Zupjok Peak (1,835 metres) is mountain located along the northwestern boundary of the Coquihalla Summit Recreation Area, in the North Cascades of southwestern British Columbia, Canada. The hike to the summit of Zupjok Peak is approximately 10km out and back with 700 metres of elevation gain.

The Hike

To reach the trail-head, drive to the Zopkios rest area on the Coquihalla Highway. From the rest area, we walked past the washrooms. We found the trail shortly afterwards. After a short distance, we crossed a bridge over a creek.

The trail climbs steadily uphill.

Eventually, the trail departs the dirt access road onto single track.

Final Thoughts

Zupjok Peak is a fantastic hike that provides spectacular views of the surrounding mountains in the Coquihalla Recreation Area. It's the perfect way to familiarize yourself with the numerous mountains, peaks, valleys, and routes. I highly recommend it for an intermediate day hike.
