Twin Lakes is nestled below Boulder Mountain and Lakeview Mountain in the Southern Monashee Mountains.

The Hike
To reach the trail-head for Twin Lakes, I drove toward Cherryville onward to the North Fork Forest Service Road. This is a popular hiking area; the parking lot is often busy. From the parking lot, the trail ascends through forest into sub-alpine meadows to the lake.

From the lake, I hiked toward Boulder Mountain by traversing to the left side of the lake. I followed a well-established trail to the boulder field below Boulder Mountain.

Looking up at the boulder-field, I traversed to the right across the boulder-field to a gully. I followed this gully to the ridge, turned left, and hiked up the ridge to the top. From Boulder Mountain, I returned to below the boulder-field.

From below the boulder-field on Boulder Mountain, Lakeview Mountain is a simple hike to the top. I simply followed the trail along the obvious ridge in the above photo. From the summit of Lakeview Mountain, I descended the ridge on the left side of this photo to reconnect to the trail that leads to the parking lot.
Final Thoughts
Twin Lakes is a beautiful with plenty of areas to explore. The hike or scramble to the top of Boulder Mountain provides beautiful views of the mountains beyond (see photo below). For the adventurous, you can continue to Mount Severide. See trip report for the Mark Berger Traverse.
