1 min read

On the last day, we hiked from Amethyst Lake to the Portal Creek trailhead. While hiking the trail, we saw a caribou along the way. According to my Coros Pace 3, the hike was 21.5km with 341 metres of elevation gain.

The Hike

While hiking toward Maccarib Pass, we saw a bull caribou feeding nearby a creek.

Final Thoughts

Tonquin Valley is a beautiful place. The landscape is spectacular. There are many opportunities to view wildlife along the way. Our time in this area sparked an interest in visiting the landscapes of caribou in BC. Next year, I will likely make a trip to Tweedsmuir Provincial Park.
