Mount Beaven

Mount Beaven is located in the Monashee mountains in the Pinnacle Hiking area. From the ridge to Mount Beaven, you can see many surrounding mountains like the North Pinnacle and Mount Severide.

The Hike

To reach the trail-head, drive toward Cherryville, BC onward to the South Fork Forest Service Road (FSR). In recent years, be aware that the start of the FSR has been rerouted further south. The drive to the trail-head is straightforward; during the weekdays, there may be logging traffic. Follow the marked signs to the trail-head.

At the trail-head, I found an outhouse and a flat parking area. The trail enters fairly dense forest then descends toward the creek. After crossing to the other side, I started gaining elevation quickly.

As I gained elevation, I passed large mature cedar trees.

The trail is easy to follow.

After ascending through the forest, I emerged into the sub-alpine. I started to have views of Mount Beaven in the distance.

From the ridge to Mount Beaven, I could see Mount Severide and the Pinnacles.

I continued along the ridge to Mount Beaven. The trail climbs steeply to the top.

Final Thoughts

Mount Beaven is a worthwhile destination; however, I wouldn't make the trip only for Mount Beaven. To make the most of the day, I hiked Vista Pass and Mount Beaven on the same day. Since you use the same access road for both hikes, it's convenient to complete these hikes together.
