Brazeau Loop - Day 2

After waking up at Boulder Creek campsite, I hiked to Brazeau Lake. According to my Coros Pace 3, it was 21km with 313 metres of elevation gain. The route follows alongside the river. The trail was easy to follow. The hike took about 4 hours. I was at Brazeau Lake shortly after lunch.

The Hike

After following the trail through the forest, I arrived at a bridge.

After passing Four Point campground, you reach a fork in the trail. I followed the trail leading to Brazeau Lake.

It was easy to access water along the way. I carried 1.25litres of water throughout the Brazeau Loop. I found this was the right amount.

With the bridge washed away, I had to ford the river. The water was only knee high. Since I spent the night at the campsite, I walked enjoyed a refreshing dip in the lake. At this time of year (near end of August), it was a very easy ford.

An afternoon storm rolled through. However, it only rained very briefly.

Final Thoughts

The hike from Boulder Creek campsite to Brazeau Lake campsite was enjoyable. It went quite quickly. I was at the lake shortly after lunch. It allowed time to enjoy the lake, eat food, and nap in the afternoon. Staying the night at Brazeau Lake was well worth it.
